Play Store / App Store revenue increased in 2020

With the difficulties of 2020 and the lockdown in many countries, it seems that many turned to online shopping through the Play Store and App Store, as more than $ 110 billion was spent on the two digital platforms, an increase of 30% compared to 2019.

Both the App Store and the Play Store grew 30% respectively, but Apple's platform gained 87.3% more revenue than Google's platform.

Specifically, App Store users spent $ 72.3 billion in 2020, up from $ 56 billion in 2019. Play Store users spent $ 39 billion in 2020, $ 9 billion more than in 2019.

On the other hand, 46.1 billion games were downloaded from the Play Store in 2020, while only 10.1 billion were downloaded from the App Store.

For the Google platform, the game with the most downloads is Garena Free Fire, while for the App Store at the top we see Among US.

Finally, we saw an increase in downloads for the first time, with data from the App Store and Play Store combined showing us 143 billion downloads , 23.7% more than in 2019. Of course, if all goes well and the countries come out from quarantine, these numbers will be reduced in 2021.
