Dimensity 1200 and 1100 from MediaTek - a pair of 6nm chipsets with Cortex-A78 CPU

MediaTek presented the updated Dimensity 1200 and 1100 SoC, made by the method of 6nm. Even with this change, we expect to see an improvement in consumption and performance, at least compared to the Dimensity 1000 at 7nm.

The Dimensity 1200 is the premium proposal MediaTek for "economic flagships".

The CPU comes with a Cortex-A78 core at 3.0GHz, three Cortex-A78 cores at 2.6GHz, and four low-power Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. In addition, it supports monitors up to 168Hz, while the five-core ISP can withstand camera sensors up to 200MP.

The smaller model also comes with Cortex-A78 cores, but four clocked at 2.6GHz, without the "big" that is. In addition, we see here four Cortex-A55 cores.

The difference is that the Dimensity 1100 can lift screens up to 144Hz and camera sensors up to 108MP.

Both models use the same GPU, Mali-G77, with 9 cores, as we saw in last year's MediaTek 1000 series.

The good thing is that the AV1 video now has hardware acceleration, while we see a built-in 5G modem. The first devices with the new MediaTek chipsets will be released in late March and early April, by companies such as Realme, Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo.
