Apple is actively pursuing the development of a VR headset, which looks set to come with tremendous performance and stung price.
According to information from the Bloomberg website, the company has in its plans the release of its own virtual reality proposal in 2022.
The device will be released as standalone and will run on batteries, such as Oculus Quest 2.
In fact, according to the source, Apple is working on the most advanced and powerful chips we have seen for its new VR headset, with some being even more powerful than the Apple M1 chip.
The company seems to have encountered many problems during development, with some prototypes ending up very large and heavy.
For this reason, Apple will use fabric on the outside of the VR headset to reduce weight. At the same time, we will see a fan, something strange for the company as it has shown us that it wants to leave the fans.
The Apple VR headset is currently codenamed N301 and some prototypes use external cameras to function as AR.
The company seems to want to use the external cameras to detect hand movement, but also to be able to offer a virtual keyboard to users.
The Bloomberg website notes that it will come at a "high price", with the company estimating just 1 purchase per day from each of its physical stores. So be patient until 2022.
