YouTube brings HDR video support to Xbox Series X / S and One

After years of promise, YouTube brings HDR video support to the latest version of the Xbox Series X, Series S, and Xbox One.

The Microsoft did announce this addition to launch of Xbox One S, ie from the distant 2016, and since then it just never saw.

According to the tests of the flatpanelshd website, the Xbox Series X is able to play HDR content in 4K resolution and at 60fps. On Xbox One we see 1440p resolution at 60fps with HDR.

On the other hand, the application supports the protocol VP9-2 of Google, without offering support AV1 . However, it seems that this is a limitation of the system and not of the application.

If you want to download the app on Xbox Series X, Series S, or Xbox One you can download it here.

Although we know about the Xbox One S and One X, unfortunately, we can not confirm if HDR is supported by the original Xbox One, but you can try it if you have the above version of the application.
